Coastal Florida Recovery and Resiliency Partnership Project:
Resilient Community Strategies for Hurricane Ian Recovery

The Coastal Florida Recovery and Resiliency Partnership Project (R2P2) will support three communities: The City of Fort Myers, the Town of Fort Myers Beach, and the City of Sanibel. The three communities were severely impacted by Hurricane Ian (September 2022) and are closely connected spatially across the impact area. Each community maintains strong independence but also understands the value of working together in their long-term recovery planning.

What is R2P2?

R2P2 is a community-focused EPA Disaster Recovery program providing technical assistance to support long-term resiliency through public engagement, design concepts, and implementation strategies.

The intended result of R2P2 Technical Assistance is to improve the communities’ resilience to future flooding events, improve protection of natural resources, and increase long-term sustainability.

Help Fort Myers Beach build back stronger and more resiliently! Draft sketch concepts are available for review at the Design Workshop and on this website. We want to know what you think of the many ideas. Please complete the survey and share your feedback!
